Card Analysis #2: Golden Comeback

From a series by Jason Langlois.

Golden Comeback
Event
Cost: [Dragon] 2
You may take a character from your smoked pile and return it to play.

General Notes

Another card that adds flexibility both to the attack and defense (love those events). It lets you return a character directly to play and have them remain there (cf. Faked Death or Mysterious Return) and do this in any players turn.

Use

Golden Comebacks, where to begin. Lets start with defensive options. As an event, the Comeback will allow you to return a character from the smoked pile, after your opponent has declared an attack. It can be used to bring back that heavy hitter you just played out and had Nerve Gassed. Offensively, you can use the Comeback to bring back a character to be used in follow up attacks (see combos), or to begin a series of attacks. The key word: flexibility. Rather than being limited to playing characters in your Main Shot, Golden Comeback gives you the chance to replay characters at any time.

Another risky use of the Golden Comeback is as a means of Healing. Have big, wounded character attack easy target, die, and Comeback to attack real target.

Pros

Allows you to play characters in opponents Main Shot and during attacks. Can be a cheap way to ressurect expensive heavy hitters, or even to bring back medium hitters.

Cons

Has to be someone in the smoked pile for you to bring back, limiting its effectiveness in the early game. Requires you to hold onto 2 power (attracting Mole Networks and Rackets) to be used in opponents turn.
