Notes

This is the deck which beat Dennis Heffernan's Brie and Robert Bain's Abusive Chi deck at Time Warp. It went on to win the Neutral Ground Proving Ground on Jan 23.
The deck is named for the Spawn of the New Flesh (the Lobster) and the main foundation character, the Plasma Trooper (the Thermidor). Most of the deck is designed to support the Spawn and, in particular, 40% of the deck comprises sites of one sort or another. These should all be laid in the front row to increase the strength of the Spawn and you should expect to have 8 or more locations when the deck is working well.
Other Spawn decks tend to use many battlegrounds but few have been included in this deck - instead I prefer to use power-generating sites. The tight tune means that there are few spare cards. The player needs to have a good memory of the deck contents to know which cards are safe to discard and which cards remain to be drawn. The Guiding Hand faction is included to provide access to cards like Confucian Stability and Fortune of the Turtle - the Spawn needs plenty of top cover to protect it from victory denial.
