Promo Card Offer

To celebrate the release of Flashpoint, the summer convention season and the Shadowfist regional and North American Championship tournaments Daedalus is issuing a Shadowfist promotional card. This card features a unique character that is already in Limited and Standard Edition Shadowfist but who has undergone some changes and is now back with new art and new abilities. [Note: It's the White Ninja. -- Bryant] This promotional card will be made available this summer and will be available in a variety of ways. Here's how:

• Drop by the Daedalus booth at Gencon. All day Saturday we'll be handing out copies of the promo card, one to a person up to a maximum of 400 cards in total. We'll also be handing these promotional cards at other conventions this summer and in the early fall. Details to follow of exactly which conventions they'll be available in the weeks to come.
• Participate in the Shadowfist Fanfiction contest. If you haven't already heard about the Shadowfist fanfiction contest contact me, Jose Garcia at jgarcia@halcyon.com for details. The top six finnishers (in both categories) in this contest win amongst other things, a copy of the promo card.
• Beat Jose Garcia in a game of Shadowfist. For the duration of the year any Shadowfist player who can corner Jose into playing a game of Shadowfist and beats him gets a copy of this promotional card. He's not too hard to find if you live in the Seattle area. Otherwise try to corner him at a con, preferably after hours where he can usualy be found in a hotel lobby playing Shadowfist. This is your best chance, both because he's available and also easier to beat after he's had a few drinks. Jose has made the biggest commitment to be available for such challenges but you may also be able to corner the other Shadowfist designers, Robin Laws and Rob Heinsoo, at certain times. And some members of the Shadowfist stuntcrew will be accepting challengers from time to time as well.
• Attend Shadowfist events in your area. For the duration of this year these cards will be dispersed at Shadowfist events all over the world. We'll be making announcements of which events these promo cards will be available at. Our goal is to give every Shadowfist player at least one chance to obtain this promotional card by simply attending a Shadowfist event in their area.
• There will be a coupon in the back of the first printing of the Shadowfist Player's Guide Vol One: Flashpoint. If you mail Daedalus a copy of that coupon along with a SASE we'll send you a promo card. All the instructions you need to follow are on the coupon. If you don't want to cut up your copy of the Player's Guide simply photocopy the coupon and send 0use proof of purchase (a reciept) instead. This is a limited time offer and it is confined to the books first printing, if we need to reprint the book the second printing copies may not have the coupon redemption offer due to the limited amount of promo cards that we have available.
• Participate in a Shadowfist Regional Championship Tournament. All participants of these tournaments will recieve this promotional card simply for attending. In the case of tournaments run over the next few weeks participants will be put on a mailing list to recieve the promotional card when it is released in July.
• Play Shadowfist a lot. Daedalus staffers and stunt crewmembers will be handing away copies of this promo card to people whom they see playing Shadowfist in public areas including conventions, stores, bars, pizzaria's etc. There's no schedule of where and when such giveaways will occur but we do plan to give away hundreds if not a thousand or more copies of this promo card away in this fashion.
