Shadowfist Fiction Contest

Daedalus Entertainment hosted a contest in which Shadowfist fans write a short Shadowfist story, preferably illustrating something that happened in a game of Shadowfist. The contest results, as posted by Jose Garcia on May 3rd:

It was difficult ranking the stories but here's the results of the fiction contest.

Honorable Mentions (in no paticular order)

What about the rest of you?

Keep it up and don't lose heart, the judging was very close, you may very well be in the winning circle next time. Overall the quality of the stories was good and I enjoyed judging the contest. And remember I'm just someone who used his college tuition money to start a gaming company not a fiction critic so don't take this a serious appraisal of your writing ability. I will be running another fanfic contest this summer so stay tuned. If you write and post a story before I announce the next contest it will be perfectly kosher for you to submit it.

Furthermore a number of writers didn't have a good grasp of some of some of the finer points of Shadowfist's continuity and I got the feeling that they could have written a better story if they weren't unsure about background details. One author, John Sullivan, sidestepped the issue completely by creating an action adventure story with a background of his own design that mirrored Shadowfist's secret war. Authors who had acess to a playtest copy of Feng Shui seemed to have a leg up on the competition (although they didn't sweep the contest). I suspect that this situation will change as Feng Shui becomes readily available.

Thanks everyone, lets do this again soon!

Stories

I'll be making as many of the stories available as possible in the near future. Any other fan fiction you may happen to write is welcome here as well.
